A note from us

When you book with The Cutting Room, that time is yours. We prepare for every appointment in advance, ensuring everything is in place for a relaxed, well-paced experience. If plans change, we simply ask for a little notice so we can offer that time to someone else.

Below is a clear outline of how we manage bookings, deposits, and appointments.

By booking with us, you’re agreeing to the following terms.

1. About Us

The Cutting Room is operated by TCR Salons Limited.

Our salon is located at:
4 Bridge Street, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 5EG

Appointments can be booked:

  • Online

  • By phone

  • In person

Online bookings are facilitated via Phorest Salon Software, which securely manages your appointment and payment details. All services are provided directly by The Cutting Room. Your contract is with us, not with Phorest.

2. Booking & Contact Details

To secure your appointment, we require:

  • A valid debit or credit card

  • An email address and mobile number

This allows us to:

  • Confirm your booking

  • Send a reminder email 7 days before

  • Send a text reminder 48 hours before

  • Issue digital receipts

It is your responsibility to ensure your contact details are accurate and up to date.

3. Deposits & Securing Appointments

All appointments at The Cutting Room are secured with a deposit.

  • Deposits are required for every booking, including existing clients

  • Deposit amounts may vary depending on the service, typically 25%–50%

  • In some cases, full payment may be required in advance

Deposits:

  • Are processed securely via Phorest (powered by Stripe)

  • We do not have access to your full card details

  • Cannot be paid in cash

  • Are deducted from your final bill

If a service is deemed unsuitable or cannot be carried out, your deposit will be fully refunded.

4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We operate a 48-hour cancellation policy.

  • More than 48 hours’ notice → no charge / full deposit refund

  • Within 48 hours → 50–100% of the appointment cost may be charged

  • Missed appointments (no-shows) → up to 100% charge

If we are able to re-fill your appointment slot, no cancellation charge will apply.

We understand genuine emergencies happen and may use discretion in exceptional circumstances.

5. How to Cancel

Appointments can be cancelled:

  • Via your online booking account

  • By calling the salon (voicemail is accepted outside opening hours)

We do not accept cancellations via:

  • Text

  • Email

  • Social media

6. Late Arrivals

If you arrive late:

  • We will do our best to accommodate you

  • Your service may be shortened

  • You will still be charged for the full appointment

If we are unable to complete your service due to lateness, it may be treated as a missed appointment, and the full fee may apply.

7. Pricing & Services

All prices are listed as “from”.

Final pricing may vary depending on:

  • Hair length and thickness

  • Time required

  • Product usage

A full consultation will always be carried out before your service.

8. Online Booking Offers

Certain services may include exclusive online booking incentives.

  • These offers apply only when booked online

  • They cannot be applied retrospectively in-salon

  • Offers may be withdrawn or changed at any time

9. Suitability of Services

You must inform us of:

  • Allergies

  • Medical conditions

  • Previous colour history

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse or adjust services

  • Require skin tests or consultations where necessary

Failure to follow required pre-appointment advice (e.g. patch testing) may result in cancellation of your service and loss of deposit.

10. Payment Terms

Before confirming your booking, we will clearly outline:

  • The service booked

  • Estimated pricing (or how pricing will be calculated)

  • Appointment date and time

By confirming your booking, you authorise us to charge your card in line with these Terms & Conditions where applicable.

11. Gift Vouchers

  • Valid only at The Cutting Room

  • Non-refundable and not redeemable for cash

  • Must be used before expiry of 12 months

  • Can be used across multiple visits until balance is used

12. Loyalty Programme

We may offer a loyalty programme or rewards system.

  • Rewards have no cash value

  • Cannot be transferred

  • May be amended or withdrawn at any time

13. Reviews

Following your appointment, you may receive a request to leave a review.

By submitting a review, you agree that:

  • It may be used for marketing purposes

  • Only your first name will be displayed

14. Liability

We take every care in delivering our services. However:

  • Services are provided based on consultation and professional judgement

  • We are not liable for outcomes where advice is not followed

  • We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under UK law.

15. Third-Party Booking System (Phorest)

Phorest provides our booking technology and payment processing.

  • They do not provide salon services

  • Your contract is with The Cutting Room

16. Privacy & Data

We securely store your personal information to:

  • Manage bookings

  • Send reminders and receipts

  • Improve your experience

All data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR regulations.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
