Ryan will be joining us from April 2nd. He is our new in house barber, learning his craft in London he is fully focused on producing high quality fades, beard trims and scissor cuts.

We are an established unisex Huntingdon hair salon located inside One Leisure Huntingdon on St Peters Road. Our location is perfect if you don't want the worry of going into the busy town centre and the added bonus of free parking. The Cutting Room Huntingdon hair salon has been trading for over 14 years, offering a range of hair cutting and colour services by highly trained stylists with over 60 years of experience between us!

We are looking for skilled and passionate hair stylists with a professional as well as an enthusiastic approach to delivering the highest standard of hairdressing and customer service. Your responsibilities would be to provide a full range of hair salon services including cutting and colouring, maintain cleanliness of the salon and your station, keep on top of current hair cutting and styling trends, ensure clients with scheduled appointments receive service in a timely manner. You will need to have at least a NVQ level two and 2 years plus experience cutting and colouring in a salon. In return we can offer flexible working hours, full or part time positions, above the national living wage hourly rate as well as a bonus and highly competitive commission structure, long term career growth and on going training available

Nathan opened TCR in 2009 inside One Leisure Huntingdon. Over the years he has trained and grown a strong team of stylists around him to create a professional salon with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Education has been a key part of his success in training his stylists. Nathan worked in a secondary school training hairdressers of a school age for two years. He then moved on to become a Matrix CRAFT educator teaching other salons and their stylists the latest in the hair industry. This included hair care products, cutting and colouring techniques, business advice as well as working alongside some of the UK's leading hairdressers on photo shoots and TV award ceremonies.

MICHELLE ROBERTS - SENIOR STYLIST

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 30+ YEARS

Michelle has been hairdressing for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to TCR. She loves a total transformation.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 10+ YEARS

Megan started her apprenticeship with TCR in 2013 and has swiftly grown to be one of the salons "go to stylists" at TCR. She is Level 3 qualified and takes extreme pride in all avenues of her job. She loves to colour and is classed as our "Balayage and Ombre queen"! Megan is the lady in charge when Nathan is not in salon

OUR 5 SUSTAINABLE STEPS

WATER WORKS

We have been working on reducing water wastage by shutting off the water during back bar services. We have also installed Ecoheads sustainable shower heads which cut down on how much water is used per service.

TOWEL TALK

We have been using disposable towels since 2011. Our go to brand in Scrummi who produce a 100% natural towel from sustainable fibres which are 100% biodegradable. They don’t have any hidden plastics and will compost within 8-12 weeks after being used. Using a disposable towel reduces the amount of water and energy used to launder the conventional towel. BRIGHT IDEAS

Since our last refit in 2012 we have been using more energy efficient LED bulbs throughout the salon. They last far longer and cut down on energy use of up to 66%. 

GO PAPER-FREE

We strive to be as paper-free as possible by providing all our services and information about the salon online on our website and social media cutting down on the use of traditional paper price lists. We also can send your appointment reminders or receipts via email and text which also cuts down on the use of appointment cards.

UPCYCLING

We also try and recycle anything in the salon we no longer have use for. We recently changed our entire home retail area. Instead of throwing all the old shelving away we donated it to Cambridge college to help them set up a shop for some of their pupils.
